Angelo Filomeno was born in Otsuni, Italy and is currently working in New York. Filomeno has been sewing since the age of seven and his work today is made of embroidered images on large silk shantung canvas. For large areas he uses an industrial sewing machine; smaller areas must be stitched by hand. Filomeno’s subjects are often natural, seasonal, and elemental.
