Sharon Core
Sharon Core lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. For her photography series Thiebauds, Core artfully baked and frosted the pastries represented in eleven of Wayne Thiebaud’s dessert paintings, then carefully reconstructed his compositions and photographed the works. Playful and precise, Core’s photographs both assert and question photography’s position in the art world today.
