Robert Burke

From brushy, ecstatic free-form works to tightly rendered paintings with strictly delineated forms, Burke has experienced many of the faces that experimenting with painting has to offer. Burke's paintings have been influenced by a variety of sources, including Japanese designs, Italian Renaissance frescoes, and paint-by-number kits. Many of his works are based on topics such as virtues and seasons. The paintings are the result of a synthesis of relationships; where technique meets influence on equal ground. Combining both the pictorial and the purely abstract, Burke's body of work becomes a celebration of ideas and painting.
